APPROVAL OF PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES OF DECEMBER 16, 2015.

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD (not to exceed a total of 15 minutes).

Each member of the audience may address the Commission on any subject within the Commission’s business. CONSENT CALENDAR. The consent calendar is approved with one motion. These items are read only on request of Commission members. Should anyone, including members of the public, wish to discuss or disapprove any item, it must be dropped from the blanket motion and considered as a separate item.

1.               WESTGATE MARKETPLACE PERMIT AMENDMENT AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SOUTH BLOSSER ROAD AND WEST BATTLES ROAD.
Review of an Amendment request (A2015-0047) by the Towbes Group to extend the expiration date of a Planned Development Permit (PD2007-0012) to allow the construction of a 132,380-square-foot retail shopping center on a 13.1 acre site in the PD/CC (Planned Development/Convenience Center) district of the Blosser Southwest Specific Plan.

 

2.               BETTERAVIA PLAZA PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF WEST BETTERAVIA ROAD, EAST OF SOUTH BLOSSER ROAD.
Review of a conceptual Planned Development Permit (PD2015-0006) for Betteravia Plaza to allow construction of up to 286,000 square feet of retail commercial development on 27.7 acres; 64,400 square feet of office development on 5.54 acres; and 271 residential units on 11.3 acres and associated public streets and infrastructure improvements on a 55 acre parcel.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission, by motion, approve the Consent Calendar.

3.               MEDICAL OFFICE DOWNTOWN PERMIT AT 361 TOWN CENTER WEST.
Review of a Downtown Permit (DT2016-0004) for Town Center, LLC to reuse an existing office for medical office use on a 0.2 acre site in the Town Center district of the Downtown Specific Plan.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission, by resolution, recommend the City Council approve Downtown Permit DT2016-0004.

 

4.               CUEVAS WAREHOUSE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AT 1030 WEST CHAPEL STREET.
Review of a mixed use Conditional Use Permit (U2015-0009) for Hipolito Cuevas to allow for a warehouse on a 0.5 acre site with two legal nonconforming dwellings in the CM (Commercial/Manufacturing) zoning district.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission, by motion, continue Conditional Use Permit U2015-0009 to February 17, 2016.

 

OTHER BUSINESS.

5.               ELECTION OF PLANNING COMMISSION OFFICERS.
Election of the Chair, Vice Chair, Subdivision Committee Representative and Alternative Subdivision Committee Representative for the 2016 calendar year.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission, by motion, approve the election of Planning Commission officers.

6.               REPORT ON CITY COUNCIL ACTIONS.

7.               ORAL REPORTS FROM PLANNING COMMISSION AND STAFF.
