This agenda is prepared and posted pursuant to the requirements of Government Code Section 54954.2. By listing a topic on this agenda, the Planning Commission has expressed its intent to discuss and act on each item. In addition to any action identified in the brief general description of each item, the action that may be taken shall include: a referral to staff with specific requests for information; continuance; specific direction to staff concerning the policy or mission of the item; discontinuance of consideration; adoption, approval or disapproval or recommendation thereof.

Participation includes assistance under the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide an equally effective opportunity for individuals with a disability to participate in and benefit from City activities. For the hearing impaired, the City has assisted listening equipment available. For TDD (Telecommunications Devices for the Deaf) service, please call 800-735-2929. In order for the City to make reasonable accommodation arrangements for the use of this assisted listening equipment, notification is required by at least 4:00 p.m. the Friday before the meeting by calling 925-0951, extension 307. This equipment can also be used for translation by Spanish-only speaking persons. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD (not to exceed a total of 15 minutes):

Each member of the audience may address the Commission on any subject within the Commission’s business. Each member of the audience and each subject is limited to discussion of three minutes or as otherwise directed by the Chair.

 

 

1.                  CONSENT CALENDAR: The consent calendar is approved with one motion. These items are read only on request of Commission members. Should anyone, including members of the public, wish to discuss or disapprove any item, it must be dropped from the blanket motion and considered as a separate item.

a.         EXTENSION OF TIME FOR A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT FOR LAKEVIEW PROMENADE, 3596 SKYWAY DRIVE, PD-2006-024, E-2005-088. Review of a request for an extension of time for a Planned Development Permit to allow the construction of a commercial and residential mixed use development consisting of 12 buildings, and including 263 airspace condominiums, in the PD/C-2 (Planned Development/General Commercial) and PD/R-3 (Planned Development/High Density Residential) zoning districts, Assessor’s Parcel Nos.111-100-008 and -009. (Project Planner: Neda Zayer)

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: By motion, approve the extension of time for one year to June 2, 2013.

b.         EXTENSION OF TIME FOR A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT FOR PLATINO DEVELOPMENT, 2916, 2926, 2946, AND 2956 INDUSTRIAL PARKWAY, PD-2010-006, E-2010-031. Review of a request for an extension of time for a Planned Development Permit to allow the construction of four new industrial buildings totaling approximately 49,200 square feet on four lots, in a PD/M-1 (Planned Development/Light Manufacturing) zoning district, Assessor’s Parcel Nos. 111-291-035, -036, -038, and -039. (Project Planner: Neda Zayer)

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: By motion, approve the extension of time for one year to August 16, 2013.

 

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

2.                  CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR RICHARD J. MEYER FOR SCREENED OUTSIDE STORAGE, 2397 A STREET, U-2012-0018, E-2012-0019.  Review of a Conditional Use Permit to allow screened outside storage on a developed site in a PD/CM (Planned Development/Commercial Manufacturing) zoning district, Assessor’s Parcel No.111-750-031. The project is a class 32 categorical exemption. No further environmental review is required. (Project Planner: Frank Albro)

3.                  CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THE SALVATION ARMY, 220 AND 226 WEST COOK STREET AND 406 SOUTH PINE STREET, U-2012-0010, E-2012-0013. Review of a Negative Declaration and Conditional Use Permit to allow the establishment of the Salvation Army and associated operations, including religious assembly, weekday lunch program, food pantry, social service assistance, assembly open to community in a R-3 (High Density Residential) zoning district, Assessor’s Parcel Nos. 123-084-020, -019, and -001. (Project Planner: Bill Scott)
